Christmas Cantata and Luncheon

Date: Sunday, December 15, 2019
Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Location: Chapel

On December 15 at 10:00 a.m., our Chancel Choir and Chapel Ringers will present Pepper Choplin's One Silent Night, a Christmas ballad of love and joy. Again this year, Music Director Merle has chosen to delight us with one of her favorite composer's works to celebrate our dear Savior’s birth during EAMC’s annual Christmas Cantata featuring solos and duets.
From the publisher:

“One Silent Night long ago, a birth story began that forever changed the world. Lying in a crude manger was a new-born babe, who would become the Source of our Christian faith and our abiding hope. Using the power and simplicity of the event itself, composer and creator Pepper Choplin presents each of the familiar elements of that story through ballad-like recitatives of scripture, surrounded by anthems ranging from outbursts of unbridled joy to moving moments of introspection and gentleness. Weaving familiar carols and songs throughout original music, this timeless tale emerges in a deeply moving presentation that will lift one’s faith and deepen one’s understanding of the profound significance of that One Silent Night.”

Hear Choplin explain One Silent Night in his own words and get a taste of the musical celebration to come on December 15! Join us for this joyous, uplifting worship experience during one of the most important seasons of the liturgical calendar. You won't be disappointed!

AND AFTER THE CANTATA... Join us for EAMC’s annual Christmas Potluck Luncheon at the Assembly Building, 720 Channel Blvd. Meats and drinks will be provided. The Social Committee asks that everyone bring a side dish or dessert. Committee members will be at the Assembly Building at 9:00 a.m. to receive food. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

This is a wonderful way to enjoy fellowship and spread Christmas cheer with friends. We hope to see you there! Any questions? Contact Bettye Benton by email or phone (252-532-0762).
